Have you ever been a victim of identity theft? It’s a scary experience when someone takes on your identity and uses it for their own gain. But did you know that as believers in Christ, we are at risk of having our true identity stolen as well? Satan is the ultimate identity thief, using hurt, pain, trauma, other people’s opinions, and the culture to distort our true identity in Christ. But in 1 Peter 2:9-10, we are reminded of our true identity as chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s very own possession.
In this message, Pastor Chris brings our Letting Go series to a close by exploring the dangers of identity theft and how we can protect ourselves by holding onto our true identity in Christ. We will learn how to let go of the fake ID that Satan tries to give us and embrace our true identity as children of God. By understanding and living out these five aspects of our true identity in Christ we can protect ourselves from Satan’s tactics and live in the fullness of who God created us to be. Join us as we reclaim our true identity in Christ and live as the people God intended us to be.
